Spring Finally Came

What an absolutely lovely day it has been today, chilly but still gorgeously blue.

We had a small wander around the village and I obviously had to snap a few photos.

In these two photos I love that someone has tried to repair the iron railings with a bit of tree branch.

I love this tree, I know I am totally useless but I have no  idea what it is, Yew, maybe?

In the distance through the trees is the Hall of the village; 16th Century, in which William Parker, Lord Monteagle, once lived.

After our short dog walk through the chilly Hertfordshire countryside we went home where I sat and made this.

 A while ago I won a competition on Facebook, and received this.  It is from a company called Hamble & Jemima and it included everything you needed to sew a wash bag/makeup bag.  So I sat down with my trusty old sewing machine and ran it up.  It is fully lined with embellishments and I am so proud of it.  You can see a few more photos on my Facebook page, Things I made.

After a lovely home cooked meal of Maryland Chicken, Sweetcorn Fritters and homemade Barbecue sauce (courtesy of Mums Know Best: The Hairy Bikers' Family Cookbook) we decided to head up to the local Football Field for a bit of this:
